Trapline Trails December 1 to March 31
We realize this can be a very sensitive topic and may not interest everyone. That said we do encourage anyone to consider this package for its informative and educational value and general appreciation of the outdoors. Respect is given to the animals harvested with the use of all furs and most carcasses. So what is involved? Well, we do our trips a bit different then most. We combine the use of a snowmobile and dogsled team. The snowmobile is used in the initial stage to prepare trails and initial setting of most sets. The dog team is then used to mainly check traps and the make a general overview of the animal movement. The trips all centre out of Sawyer Lake lodge having the option of overnighting in our trapper's cabin.
As a wonderful souviner of the trip you are able to take home a prepared fur of your choice of those available at that time. If you would like it tanned we can forward it to your home at a later date. We also encourage a conversation with a resident “old-time trapper” to relive some of their adventures. We also believe that our interpretive efforts will bring this part of the world alive for you to enjoy. Enjoy the boreal forest with us!
